From warm hats for cold nights to fresh vegetables from Good Ground Urban Garden, our outreach ministries put faith into action for the Morgan Park community. Here are a few of the projects we're working on right now.
Hats (and Scarves) for the Homeless
In this season of giving, help us bring love, hope, and joy to the homeless. We're collecting hand-knitted or crocheted hats and scarves, as well as newly purchased items, for Morgan Park United Methodist Church's "Hats (and Scarves) for the Homeless" Advent Program. We're also collecting socks. Everything collected is given to local shelters as Christmas gifts for the homeless.

Good Ground Urban Garden
We started a community garden in Morgan Park! "Good Ground" is a nod to the parable of the sower, Matthew 13:1-23. For decades, our church had a vacant plot of land next to the building that grew little more than a few wild daffodils — so we vowed to do something about it. We are growing vegetables and giving them away to anyone in the community who wants them. We're asking our neighbors to partner with us in this endeavor. The Sneaker Drive
MPUMC has launched its next long-term fundraising effort — the Sneaker Drive! We're collecting new or gently worn athletic shoes ("gym shoes") for all ages, kids, men's, and women's. Every pair keeps shoes out of landfills, and we earn $7 for every new pair and $2 for every clean, gently worn pair collected. Drop your sneakers in the boxes located in the hallway, the Parlor, or outside the parking lot entrance!
